Greetings from Nairobi. It’s another beautiful Summers day For the PWB Crew, coming together as one to share their love and talents to the wonderful souls of Kenya.
Today we began to build our show, using local folktales as a base to build short physical theatre pieces to create the material. We picked six pieces of local folklore to develop and sketched one out this afternoon. The team is extremely dynamic and overflowing with skill and talent, they all have very strong and complimentary theatrical backgrounds, with this base they have been able to generate material surprisingly fast. Cross-pollinating with artists from four countries: the UK, Ireland, Poland and the USA – has been quite a treat. Knowing many of the same games, exercises and concepts – but with vastly different flavours styles and names, showing the humanly universal power of theatre.
